Brandy C. Baker:
I am running for US Senate to help spread the message that we need a whole new system. As a socialist and as an activist who has worked on various issues for the past 13 years, I can tell you that capitalism does not work. Things are getting worse, wealth is being transferred upward to the 1%, the rich are making us poorer. We need to discard this system and have a democratic and interdependent system where we all take care of one another. People getting together and making decisions democratically. Right now, the US Senate is really the US House of Lords. They are there to work for the corporations and elites, not the rest of us. This will continue as long as we have capitalism.
Brandy C. Baker:
Work to:
1.)get Congress to forgive all student debt.
2.)prosecute all the criminals on Wall Street and nationalize all banks.
3.)end all US wars and occupations all over the world as well as close all US military bases on foreign soil.
Brandy C. Baker:
I'm a socialist and do not believe in that capitalism is a legitimate system.
Wealth continues to be transferred upwards in our society, and while we should work for reforms, the racial and economic inequalities are too severe for band-aid solutions at this point.

Daniel J. Bongino:
I am running for the office of United States Senator, because I have sat on the sidelines and watched both parties bring about a rapid expansion of government, and potentially bankrupt our country. I have credentials in both academics and the real world, starting with two masters degrees, an extensive career as a New York City police officer, and a United States Secret Service agent. I plan on challenging the political establishment by giving the American people straight talk and real answers on the host of important issues facing our nation. My personal and professional background gives me the necessary perspective to take on the issues facing our country. My wife and I are small business owners, we see first hand the problems government causes for small business owners. As a secret service agent during three administrations I sat on the sidelines and saw first hand what government bureaucrats were doing to our country.
Daniel J. Bongino:
The first action I will take is to propose strong tax code reform. Government needs to provide a strong structural framework for economic growth. Reducing governments role in the economy with across the board rate cuts along with a reduction in the number of definable income categories accompanied by a streamlining of the tax code. Corporate and capital gains tax rates must be cut and loop holes closed. The second action I will take is to prioritize education. I fully support the implementation of tools such as school choice vouchers, charter schools, merit based pay systems for educators, and year round schooling. We need to reward good teachers and allow them to work in system not stifled by bureaucracy. The third action I will propose is immigration reform. First we have to secure our nations borders. Second we must look to reform our current system, I believe we must move towards a re-evaluation of the current chain migration and diversity visa based system.
Daniel J. Bongino:
The most glaring difference between myself and Senator Cardin is our view of governments role in the economy. Senator Cardin believes in a top-down economy with government at the top. I believe that government is there to provide a framework to give the American entrepreneur the best opportunity to create jobs. Senator Cardin believes that government knows best how to spend the American people's money. I believe the American people know better how to spend their own money when it comes to healthcare and education. I am the only candidate serious about cutting spending partly by eliminating useless agencies but also by demanding an increase in productivity within government agencies.

Benjamin L. Cardin:
Representing the people of Maryland in the U.S. Senate is an honor that I have had for the last five years. I’ve been a national leader on health care, retirement security, the environment and fiscal issues. I have used my time and my assignments on the Senate Finance, Budget, Environment & Public Works, Small Business, Foreign Relations, and Judiciary Committees to promote policies and initiatives that help grow our economy and create job opportunities for people, including supporting small businesses, particularly in their push to gain access to capital; protecting our middle class and our most vulnerable citizens; maintaining clean air and clean water, and especially helping to restore the health of the Chesapeake Bay; expanding opportunities for public transit and energy independence; and protecting civil rights. I have dedicated my life to the basic belief that by putting principles into action, we can give every individual the opportunity to achieve his or her dreams.
Benjamin L. Cardin:
1) We need to bring more jobs to Maryland and protect the jobs we have. The federal government has a responsibility to invest in programs that help boost job creation and help small businesses grow, while still protecting the values we cherish.
2) We need a credible, balanced plan to bring our debt under control while allowing our nation to invest in modernizing our transportation, energy and water systems.
3) We also need to invest in education so our businesses have qualified workers who can out-compete our global competitors.
Benjamin L. Cardin:
I have a strong record of accomplishment and successful track record of working across party lines to get things done for Marylanders. Among my proud accomplishments in the Senate, I was successful in getting a guaranteed dental benefit included in the reauthorization of CHIP. I wrote the law that established the Institute for Minority Health and Health Disparities at NIH. The America Recovery and Reinvestment Act included my amendments to provide first-time homebuyers with an $8,000 tax credit. I fought for, and won, increased funding for the Small Business Administration and the first-ever dedicated funding stream for the Washington Metro system.
I stand up for my Democratic values, but I still believe that we can come together to find common ground on many issues that impact our economy, like unemployment and controlling our deficit; health and environment challenges, like air pollution and the health of the Chesapeake Bay; and national security challenges like Iran and China.
